Short and Sweet Moon

The Lunar Perigee (Supermoon)

So what was the big deal about today? Well as you may have read on my blog yesterday and watched the news & newspapers, this "supermoon" appeared a little closer than it has before it was just under 230,000 miles away from the earth, closest this distance in 18years. I thought it was a beautiful sight, at first it was yellowish then quickly got covered up by clouds at approximately 1930 GMT(photo below, incorrect timing), followed by more movement becoming whiter and brighter.
It has been predicted by scientists that it could lead to disasters and known to amplify tides.

The whole issue is that whatever is happening may not be able to be stopped take earthquakes for example the tectonic plates rub and cause friction and cause a quake, how as humans can we stop it? It's literally impossible!
As a person who is not very supertitious my mother had said to me that usually when something like this happens people usually stay in the house and don't go out to see the moon and pray. But are our supertitions getting the better of us? For example in some instances a black cat is not seen as good and in some instances seen as good, should we not be changing from the traditional ways into modern.

So what did you all think??

I left the blog short and sweet for today... :) Thanks for reading :)
